Pioneer Festival

Spend some time in the 1800s June 7th and 8th at Historic Point Basse in Nekoosa. The annual Pioneer Festival includes demonstrations of period crafts, period foods, and period entertainment.  Admission is $5/adults and $2/children.

Walk or Run for a Good Cause

Spring has finally come to Wisconsin, and you can get outside and help out a great cause on May 3rd at the 6th annual Jigsaw Run at South Wood County Park in Wisconsin Rapids. Walk or run the 6K course around Lake Wazeecha - racing starts at 10AM. Proceeds from the event will benefit those with Autism in Wisconsin.

10th Annual Bowl for Dreams

Evergreen Lanes in Nekoosa will be hosting the Tri-City Children’s Dream Foundation's 10th Annual Bowl for Dreams.  This scotch doubles bowling tournament will be March 15th & 16th and March 22nd & 23rd.  Along with the bowling fun there will be a raffle with great prizes!

The Wisconsin Rapids Figure Skating Club will host Skate with Taste Ice Show Saturday March 8th and Sunday March 9th.  100 local skaters showcase their talent at three shows: Saturday 1PM and 7PM, and Sunday 1PM at the South Wood County Recreation Center.

Winter Fest

The First Annual Winter Fest at RiverEdge Golf Course in Marshfield will be held February 22nd; a celebration of Wisconsin's winter activities. Here's a winter fun event that supports a great cause: Bar Stool Ski Races at the Wild Horse Saloon in Kellner on Saturday January 25th to benefit Every Children's Dream.

Registration and Check-in 10AM to 11:30AM, races at Noon. 1st Place $100.00, 2nd Place $50.00, 3rd Place $25.00, and Special Trophy and $25.00 for Most Creative. Chili, BBQ, hot dogs, drinks, beer and soda all day.
