Winter Fest

The First Annual Winter Fest at RiverEdge Golf Course in Marshfield will be held February 22nd; a celebration of Wisconsin's winter activities. Bring the family and join in these fun races: Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoing and Fat Tire Biking, and a junior race for the kids. After the races enjoy chili, music and more activities.

Bridal Fair

Planning your wedding?  Saturday January 18th Marshfield Mall will be hosting Bridal Fair Extravaganza 10AM-5PM.  Fashion Show, food and cake samples, and 30 vendors. A raffle with $2000 in prizes and a $500 grand prize as well.  Admission is free.

Holiday Happenings

Christmastime is coming and Wisconsin Rapids and Marshfield have events to help ring this happy time of year.

This Thursday, November 21st, is the 14th Annual Holiday Parade at 6:30PM down Central Avenue in Marshfield.  See Santa and enjoy treats at the Holiday Inn after the parade.

Next Wednesday, November 27th, Heid Music will be providing music from 5PM-6PM along with the Celebration! Lighting at 5:45PM followed by the 7th Annual Rekindle The Spirit Parade in downtown Wisconsin Rapids.

Friday November 29th Marshfield will be hosting Family Wagon Rides 5:30PM to 7:30PM from China Chef and Adults only Romantic Buggy Rides 6PM to 8PM from the Holiday Inn.

Fall Events November 15th to 17th

Crisp, cool temperatures and a hint of snow to come don't stop the fun in Central Wisconsin.  Check out these events next weekend:

Friday November 15th is the 29th annual Fall FunFest at Immanuel Lutheran School in Wisconsin Rapids from 4PM-8PM.  They will have games, bingo, a raffle drawing, a cake walk, along with food and fun.

The YMCA of South Wood County's 2013 Turkey Trot will be held Saturday November 16th at Camp Alexander in Wisconsin Rapids. Pre-registration is over, but same day registration will be from 8AM-9:30AM. The ‘Lil Gobblers Race - a 1 mile walk/run for 5 to 12 years olds - begins at 9AM and the 5k Run/Walk begins at 10AM. There will also be family fun and games from 9:30AM to 11AM. Get details and registration form here 2013 Turkey Trot

Hear beautiful music Sunday November 17th at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield as the Central Chamber Chorale performs at 3PM.

Special Halloween Events

It's nearly time for the spooks and spirits to come out and play - and here are some fun events around the area to celebrate Halloween.

On Wednesday October 30th the Marshfield Library is hosting History Rising From the Grave at 7PM.  Learn the histories of Marshfield's Cemeteries.

And on Halloween night you can trick or treat without the street in Marshfield or Wisconsin Rapids.  Visit the Marshfield Mall between 5PM-7PM for Malloween with Costume Fashion Show or St Paul's Lutheran Church parking lot for Trunk-R-Treat from 4:30PM-6:30PM with bounce house, activities and more.

21st Annual Maple Fall Fest

September 14th and 15th enjoy all things maple at the Maple Fall Fest at Wildwood Park in Marshfield.

Start the weekend off with a American Heart Association Heart Walk from 8AM-11AM or the All-you-care-to-eat Regular and Potato Pancakes with Wenzel Farm Sausage from 7AM-1PM. And you won't want to miss the "Best of Marshfield” Maple Syrup Contest or the Maple Dessert Baking Contest.

Independence Day

Get your red, white and blue - the 4th of July will be here next week!

In Wisconsin Rapids you can head to "4th on 1st Street" 2PM-dusk. There will be kids games, music food and more, plus watch the fireworks at dusk. 4th on 1st Street Facebook

June Dairy Breakfasts

June is Dairy Month - and the best part of Dairy Month are Dairy Breakfasts held all across the State.

In Wood County you can enjoy these events:

June 7th - 9th its Dairyfest in Marshfield which begins with the Mayor's Breakfast on Saturday 5AM to 10AM. Other activities include a Community Garage Sale, Fun Run, Picnic in the Park, Lip Sync Contest, Pie and Ice Cream Social and much more. Get all the details here 2013 Dairyfest

June 16th the Marshfield FFA Alumni will June Dairy Breakfast at the Griesbach Farm in Stratford from 7AM to Noon. Tickets are $6 or  $3/kids 11 and under Free/preschool and under.

The Wisconsin Rapids Berry-Dairy Breakfast will be June 21st 6AM-10:30AM at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids.

June 22nd is the Auburndale FFA Alumni Dairy Breakfast 7AM-11AM at the Auburndale Village Park Shelterhouse, tickets are $6 $3/10 and under Free/preschoolers - AND the Pittsville FFA will host their 31st Annual Dairy Breakfast 7AM-11AM at the Otter Creek Farm, tickets are $6.

Youth Outdoor Day

Sunday March 24th - 60th Annual Palm Sunday Choir Concert 3PM at Our Lady of Peace Church in Marshfield.

Monday March 25th - "THE LAST SUPPER" - A DRAMATIC RECREATION 7PM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshfield. Free event.

Friday March 29th - Elks Lenten Fish Fry 4:30PM-6:30PM at Elks Lodge 693 in Wisconsin Rapids.

Saturday - March 30th - 80th Annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt 10AM at Mead Field and Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids - if field is covered with snow location see website for alternate locations)

Saturday March 30th - Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt Noon at Columbia Park in Marshfield. Ages 1-10.

Team Scrabble Time

March 12th is the 2nd Annual Team Scrabble Tournament benefiting the Literacy Council of Wood County.  Teams report at 5:30PM at the Wildwood Zoo in Marshfield and games start at 6:15PM.

Fun Halloween Events in Marshfield

These Halloween events on Saturday October 13th won't be scary, but they sure will be fun!

In the morning from 10AM to 2PM take the kids trick-or-treating at the Wildwood Zoo. Your family will enjoy a tour of the zoo while collecting treats while learning about animal diets. Cost is $5 per family.  See the event flyer here Trick-or-Treating at the Zoo

Saturday evening get dressed up in your Halloween best and head to the the 8th Annual Masquerade for the Chestnut Avenue Center for the Arts.  Dance to the music of The Pointless Brothers and try to win a prize for the best costumes. There will be a cash bar. Marshfield Police/Fire vs Channel 9

It may not be the baseball game of the century, but it sure sounds like a lot of fun for a good cause.

Head out to the Marshfield Fairgrounds this Saturday, June 16th and watch two softball games -  local community members will play Marshfield youth at 10:30AM followed by Marshfield Police/Fire Departments versus WAOW News Line 9 at 12:30PM.

Enjoy all the activities from 10AM-2PM including face painting, bouncy houses, 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, concessions, and don't forget to have your picture taken with Arco and H, our K-9 unit heroes. Free admission, goodwill donations will be accepted to benefit MPD's newest K9 "H".

Homeless Shelter Benefit this Weekend

This Friday save money, have a great meal and dance the night away to benefit the new Transitional Homeless Shelter being built in Marshfield.

Start your day shopping at rummage sales held by St Vincent de Paul, Someplace Else Bar and Grill, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and many more. 

At 6PM head over to the Knights of Columbus Hall for a Roast Pork Loin/Chicken Dinner. Tickets are $25/Adults $10/Kids (price includes dance admission).

Then from 8PM to Midnight it's a blast from the past with a Sock Hop at the Knights of Columbus Hall - music provided by DJ Dew Dance. Admission is $7.

Farm Show

The Shoppes at Wood Ridge in Marshfield are hosting the 32nd Annual Farm Show tomorrow and Thursday 10AM-4PM.

There will be over 150 booths and 80 pieces of new equipment. Join in the silent auction, see a goat milking display, spin the "Wheel of Fortune", and enjoy food from the 4H.
