Cranberry Tours

The Pittsville FFA/FFA Alumni Splash of Red Cranberry Highway Tour begins it's 12 year Friday September 27th and runs Wednesdays and Fridays through October 25th.

The 2 1/2 hour tour includes visiting a current marsh under construction, producing beds where you can pick fresh fruit from the vine, along with viewing harvesting, cleaning, and freezing of the berries. Lunch is provided by the Pittsville High School Foods Class.

Pancakes

What better way to start a Sunday morning with all you can eat pancakes?  On March 3rd you have two great events to choose from.

In Port Edwards it's the Lion's Club Pancake Brunch from 8:30AM to 1PM in the Port Edwards High School Cafeteria. Three kinds of pancakes to choose from Potato, Cranberry, and Buttermilk! Plus sausage, applesauce, beverages. Cost is $6/adults $3/kids 3-10, and proceeds go to youth softball and baseball.  Pancake Brunch

In Rudolph head over to St Phillip's for the Women Foresters Pancake Breakfast 8AM-12:30PM. Regular and Potato Pancakes will be served along with sausage, applesauce and cinnamon rolls. Pancake Breakfast

Marshfield Police/Fire vs Channel 9

It may not be the baseball game of the century, but it sure sounds like a lot of fun for a good cause.

Head out to the Marshfield Fairgrounds this Saturday, June 16th and watch two softball games -  local community members will play Marshfield youth at 10:30AM followed by Marshfield Police/Fire Departments versus WAOW News Line 9 at 12:30PM.

Enjoy all the activities from 10AM-2PM including face painting, bouncy houses, 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, concessions, and don't forget to have your picture taken with Arco and H, our K-9 unit heroes. Free admission, goodwill donations will be accepted to benefit MPD's newest K9 "H".

Freezin' for Special Olympics

Feel like jumping in a lake?

It's Polar Plunge time again - Special Olympics' "Freezin for a Reason" fundraiser February 4th at the Grand Rapids Lions Club. Registration begins at 10AM and at Noon it's time to jump!

Not brave enough to test the water? You can still come out and make a pledge, enjoy live music from The Spicy Tie Band, The Lions Club's concessions, and cheer the jumpers on.

Royal Event

Royal Event XXXI is May 22nd from 11AM to 4PM on the Assumption High School grounds.

This is the Assumption Catholic Schools annual family festival and fund raiser. The event includes live and silent auctions, a raffle, food, a bake sale, bingo, kids’ midway games and inflatable rides and a "Classic Car Cruise-In". A 5k Fun Run/Walk begins at Noon.

Free admission and free parking! Bring the family and enjoy the day.

Daffodil Days

While the weather may not be bright and cheery, you can spread some sunshine of your own during Daffodil Days in Wood County.

From January 14th until until February 11th you can place orders for daffodils to benefit the American Cancer Society. For just a $10 donation you will receive a bunch of 10 daffodils. And for a $25 donation to the Gift of Hope program, the American Cancer Society will anonymously deliver beautiful bouquets arranged in vases to area cancer patients. Also available this year is "Liv N. Hope", a special Boyds Bear designed exclusively for the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days. A donation of $25 you can order "Bear and a Bunch" as a Bear Hug for Hope to children going through cancer treatment.
