Fall Family Fun

Autumn has come to Wisconsin and that means cool weather, colorful trees, and pumpkins!  It also mean time for family fun at two local farms in Wisconsin Rapids.

Head to Altenburg's Country Garden weekends from September 22nd through Halloween.  Pick out a pumpkin, stroll though the Corn Maze, check out the Cute Spook House, visit the Straw Fort, try to win at the Duck Race and much more.  Lots of farm fresh produce at the farm market. And this year brings the return of Reinke's Down on the Farm. Find pumpkins, squash, gourds, cranberries and lots of homemade goods and crafts at this 1940s farm. Check out the Corn Maze and Spooky Woods, play some games or take a hayride.  Get directions and details here Down on the Farm

Giant Pumpkin Fest Time

If you like to see the biggest fruits and vegetables then you need to get to the Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest.  Farmers and growers from across the Midwest will be there not only with pumpkins but squash and watermelons and more, looking to win and set new records with their extra large produce.

Plenty of family fun at the 14th annual running of this festival as well: flea market, farmers’ market, antique tractors, kids’ games, giant pumpkin drop, run/walk,  2nd annual bake-off, car show, music, food and more.  Be at the Nekoosa Business Park October 1st and 2nd and enjoy.

Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest

Despite the flooding, the 13th Annual Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest will be held October 2nd and 3rd. But the location of the festival has moved from Riverside Park to Nekoosa Business Park.
