Farm Show

The Shoppes at Wood Ridge in Marshfield are hosting the 32nd Annual Farm Show tomorrow and Thursday 10AM-4PM.

There will be over 150 booths and 80 pieces of new equipment. Join in the silent auction, see a goat milking display, spin the "Wheel of Fortune", and enjoy food from the 4H.

Freezin' for Special Olympics

Feel like jumping in a lake?

It's Polar Plunge time again - Special Olympics' "Freezin for a Reason" fundraiser February 4th at the Grand Rapids Lions Club. Registration begins at 10AM and at Noon it's time to jump!

Not brave enough to test the water? You can still come out and make a pledge, enjoy live music from The Spicy Tie Band, The Lions Club's concessions, and cheer the jumpers on.

Animal Shelter Wins $1000 Prize

The South Wood County Humane Society wins a prize in the Animal Rescue Site and Petfinder.com's Challenge. Story from wisconsinrapidstribune.com
The South Wood County Humane Society has won a $1,000 prize for getting the most votes in the state in the fourth round of voting in the Animal Rescue Site and Petfinder.com's $300,000 Shelter+ Challenge.

Supporters brought home the prize by voting as often as once a day.

Online voting for the first round of the 2012 Challenge began Monday at theanimalrescuesite.com

Old Fashioned Christmas

More Seasonal Fun on Saturday

'Tis the season for lots of activity - this Saturday Wood County is full of fun!

Start out by making your sweet tooth happy at the Cookie and Candy Walk at St John's in Kellner.  Cookies and Candies sold by the pound starting at 9AM.

Saturday is also Rudolph's Country Christmas!  Special Pictorial Cancellation available today only.  Petting zoo, games, horse-drawn wagon rides, silent auction and craft sale.  Lighted Parade at 5:15PM.

Need a picture with Santa? Bring your camera to the M&I Bank parking lot in Marshfield to see Santa and Mrs Claus along with two reindeer.  There will be wagon-rides and refreshments available from 10AM-1PM.

Kick off the Holidays!

This Friday head to Downtown Wisconsin Rapids and welcome in the holiday season.

The fun begins with a Lighting Ceremony at 5:45PM at Veterans’ Memorial Park.  The Parade will be at 6PM from JC Penney over the Grand Avenue Bridge to 4th Street, then you can visit Santa at the Hotel Mead and enjoy some hot cocoa and cookies.
